Augustusplatz is home to two musical gems that Leipzig proudly presents: the famous Gewandhaus concert hall and the centuries-old opera house! In the orchestra pit, the Gewandhaus Orchestra guarantees top-tier musical quality. The opera’s ballet ensemble also has an outstanding reputation, especially since the late ballet director Uwe Scholz, and is well-known internationally.
